05/2025 - ASWA conference talks

Three members of our lab, Dr. Ma'ayan Lev, Dr. Linda Amos, and Prof Cheryl Makarewicz, presented their research at the XVIth international meeting of the ICAZ working group "Archaeozoology of Southwest Asia and Adjacent Areas" (ASWA) in Munich. Dr. Ma'ayan Lev gave a talk on "Squamate Reptiles and Faunal Intensification in the PPNA at el-Hemmeh, Southern Levant", Dr. Linda Amos talked about "Avian Exploitation and Habitat Use in the PPNA: Insights from el-Hemmeh, Wadi Hasa, Jordan", and Prof Cheryl Makarewicz's talk was titled "Mass-kill gazelle hunting in the Badia: evidence from desert kites and
settlements in the Jafr Basin (Jordan)".
